Although the producers are the masters of their farms, educational barriers and lack of information cause many of them to work with outdated systems. SCOBOL provides ongoing training in harvesting, post-harvesting and drying. This increases productivity and quality of the product, thereby increasing the income of the coffee-growing families. This advice also allows us to strengthen our relationship with the producers.
We work with coffee farmers by linking them to international suppliers of state-of-the-art agricultural services and inputs at affordable and rational prices. We also assist growers who need financing for external agricultural risks.
Through our Quality Laboratory, we analyze all the coffees that enter our warehouse to create an extensive database of the producer and its evolution over the years. In this way, we are able to provide constant feedback to the grower so that they can evaluate and continuously improve.
One of the biggest challenges growers have is the management of their farm operations. Through SCOBOL’s “Business Adminstration Program”, we provide training on cash flow management, production and expense records, harvester payment records, budgeting, and other tools that allow producers to become true businnes owners of their farms.
